Even the most motivated of us  Work Out - you, me, Tony Robbins - can feel unmotivated at times. In fact , sometimes it seems that we are in such a crisis even think about making positive changes very difficult.



But not impossible :  Work Out with some small steps , baby , in fact , you can start on the path to positive change.


Yeah, I know ,  Work Out it seems impossible at times. You do not want to do anything . I've been there , and in fact, I always feel like that from time to time. You are not alone . But I learned some ways out of a crisis, and we'll take a look at that today.

This post was inspired by reader Roy C. Carlson , who asked :

   

"I was wondering if you could do an article on why it may be hard for someone to change direction and begin to take control of their lives . Work Out  I must say that I am in this boat and advice on getting my fall would be great ."

Roy is just one of many with a fall like that Work Out  . Again, I feel that way myself sometimes , and sometimes I find it hard to motivate myself to exercise -  Work Out and I'll use this as an example of the way out of the crisis.

When I fall in the year due to illness or injury or disturbance of the things in my life, it is hard to start . I do not even want to think sometimes. But I've always found a way out of this mess , and here are some things I learned that helped :

   

A Meta. Every time I went into a depression , I found that it is often because I have too many things in my life. I  Work Out try to do too much. And undermines my energy and motivation. This is probably the most common mistake that people make : they try to do too much , trying to do too much at once.  Work Out You can not maintain energy and focus ( the two most important things to achieve the goal ) , Work Out  if you try to do two or more goals at once. Not possible -  Work Out I have tried several times. You should choose a goal, for now, and focus on it completely. I know it's hard . However,  Work Out I speak from experience . You can always do your other goals when you've accomplished your only goal .
   
Frustration . This seems obvious, but most people do not think much if you want out of a crisis , get excited about a goal. But how can you do when you do not feel motivated? Well, it starts with inspiration from others  Work Out  ( see above) , but you have to take that excitement and build Work Out . For me, I learned to talk to my wife about it, and others, and reading as much of it as I possible, and visualizing what it would be like to be successful Work Out  ( see the benefits of goal in my head ) I'm excited about a goal. Once I did, it 's just a matter of carrying that energy forward and keep it going.


Find inspiration .  Work Out Inspiration, for me permit to work, comes from others who have achieved what you want to achieve , or are currently doing so . Work Out  Read other blogs , books, magazines .  Work Out I Google my goal, and read success stories. Zen Habits is just a place of inspiration, not only to me but to many readers who have done amazing things permit to work.

For example, when I wanted to run my first marathon , I started writing a column about this in my local newspaper. The entire island of Guam ( 160K pop . ) Knew about my goal. I could not back down  Work Out , and though my motivation came and went , work styleI stuck with it and completed. work styleNow you do not have to commit to your goal in your life, but you can do it with friends and colleagues and friends , and you can do it on your blog if you have one . And hold yourself accountable - do not commit once, but commit to giving progress updates to everyone every week .


Post your goal.work style Write your goal in big words.permit to work Make your goal just a few words long, like a mantra ( " 15 minutes of exercise . Daily" ) ,  Work Out and display it on the wall or refrigerator . Poster at home and at work. work style Put it on the desktop of your computer. You want to have big reminders about your goal, keep your focus and keep your excitement going. a picture of your goal ( like a model with sexy abs, for example) can also help.
   


   

Think of every day. If you think about your goal every day , it is much more likely to be true . To this end , posting the goal on the wall or on the desktop ( as mentioned above ) helps a lot. Send daily reminders also helps. And if you can commit to something small to move your goal ( even just 5 minutes ) every day , your goal is almost certainly going to happen.
  

Seek care . It is hard work styleto Work Out  accomplish something alone . When I decided to run my marathon , I had the help of family and friends, and I had a great racing community on Guam who encouraged me at 5K races and did long runs with me . When I decided to quit , I joined an online forum and that helped me tremendously. And of course , my wife Eva helped every step of the way. I have not done these goals without her, or without other people who have supported mework style . Find your support network , either in the real world or online, or both.
   

Realize  Work Out that there is an ebb and flow . Motivation is not a constant thing that is always there for you. work styleIt comes and goes and comes and goes again, like the tide. But realize that if you can go , it does not permanently. Will return . Just wait and wait for that motivation to come back. Meanwhile , read your goal ( see below) , ask for help ( see below) , and do other things listed here until your motivation comes back.
   
Stick with it . Whatever you do , do not be discouraged . Even if you are not feeling any motivation today work style , or this week , do not give up . Again, that motivation will come back. Think of your goal as a long trip , and fall is just a small bump in the road . You can not give every little bump.  Work Out Stay with it for the long run, roll and surf reflux flow , and you'll get there.

   
Start small . Really small .work style If you are having a difficult time to start , it may be because you think it's too big. If you wish to exercise , for example, you may think that you have to do these intense 5 days a week training. No - instead , make small baby steps. Just do 2 minutes of exercise. I know it sounds weak. But it works . Commit to 2 minutes of exercise a week. You may want to do more, Work Out  but just stick to 2 minutes. It's so easy , you can not fail. Do it at the same time every day . Only abs , two bombs and a bit of jogging in place. Once you 're done 2 minutes a day for a week , increasing to 5, and stick to it for a week. In a month , you will make 15 to 20 work style. You want to get up early? Do not think about waking up at 5:00 instead , consider waking up 10 minutes earlier than a week. That's it. Once you 've done that , wake up 10 minutes earlier than that. No baby .
   

Build on small successes . Again, if you start small for a week, you will succeed. You can not fail if you start with something ridiculously easy. Who can not exercise for 2 minutes ? ( If this is you , please forgive me  Work Out work style. ) And you will feel successful and good about yourself. Take this feeling of success and build  Work Out another small step . Add 2-3 minutes to your exercise routine , for example. At each step work style ( and each step should last about a week  Work Out ) Work Out , you will feel even more successful. Make each step really, really small, and not get lost. After a couple of months , the youngest not add up to a lot of progress and success Work Out  .
  

 Read about every day. When I lose motivation , I just read a book or blog about my goal Work Out . It inspires and invigorates me . For some reason , reading helps motivate and focus on what you read . So read about your goal every day, if possible , especially when you do not feel motivated.
   
Call for help when his reflux motivation.  Work Out Problems? Ask for help . Email me . Join an online forum. Find a buddy to join you. Call your mother . No matter who tells them their problems , and talk will help . Ask them for advice . Work Out  Ask them to help them overcome their crisis. It works.
   
Think of the benefits , not the difficulties .  Work Out A common problem is that we think  Work Out about how difficult something. Exercise seems so hard! Just think about it , you tired. But instead of thinking about how something is, think about what you will get out. For example , instead of thinking about how you can be a stressful exercise ,  Work Out focus on quality , you will feel when you are done ,  Work Out and how it will be slimmer and healthier in the long run . The benefits of something will help energize .
   
Squash negative thoughts , but replace them with positive thoughts. In this regard, it is  Work Out important to start monitoring y Work Out our thoughts.
